Enter your name and email, pick your rule variations, and click Create New Game. You get a short room code like ABC123.

Text the room code to your friends and family. They open the site, type it in, and take a seat — on any phone, tablet, or computer.

What is Hand and Foot?

Hand and Foot is a beloved rummy-style card game in the Canasta family, usually played with 2–8 players. Each player gets two piles of cards: a hand you play first, and a foot you pick up once your hand is empty.

On each turn you draw, meld sets of matching cards (and straights, if your table allows them), and discard. Seven cards in one meld make a book — clean books with no wild cards score 500, dirty books score 300, and rare books of twos or seven-card straights score even more. The round ends when someone empties their hand and foot and goes out; the series runs to 10,000 points.

It's easy to learn, hard to put down, and famously the game that keeps families around the table for "just one more round." New to the game or need a refresher?

Frequently asked questions

What is Hand and Foot?

Hand and Foot is a popular rummy-style card game in the Canasta family for 2–8 players. Each player is dealt two piles — a hand and a foot. You meld sets and runs, build books of seven cards, and race to empty both piles while scoring the most points over a series of rounds to 10,000.

Is it free to play?

Yes — your first 3 games are free and include one full round of video chat, so you can try everything before deciding. After that, a subscription is $4/month or $40/year for unlimited games and unlimited video.

Do I need to download or install anything?

No. The game runs entirely in your web browser on phones, tablets, and computers. Create a table, share the room code, and everyone joins from the website.

How many people can play?

From 2 to 8 players at one table. Everyone sees the shared table live, and only you can see your own hand — the server deals and enforces the rules for everyone.

Can we see and talk to each other while playing?

Yes. Built-in video chat sits right beside the card table, so you can see and hear everyone while you play — no separate Zoom or FaceTime call needed. Video is optional, and you can mute your mic or turn off your camera at any time.

Can we pause a game and finish it later?

Yes. Games auto-save at the end of every round, and the host can pause mid-round at any time. Everyone rejoins later from any device using the same email — scores, hands, and table pick up exactly where you left off.

Which rules do you use?

The classic game, plus popular table variations the host can toggle: traditional red 3s, same-suit straights, extending clean books, taking the discard pile onto existing melds, and per-card scoring at round end. See the full rules for details.

The cards are shuffled. The table's set.
